POS terminal payment processing disruption
Update
We continue to observe good connection and stability levels since approximately 07:20AM BST this morning.
CabCard POS terminals should be able to connect as normal.
We will now mark this incident as resolved, however we will continue to monitor and work with our SIM connectivity provider to understand the root cause of this issue.
We sincerely apologise to all affected customers for the disruption caused by this incident. We highly recommend that customers take the opportunity to become familiar with CabCard’s alternative payment methods (Payment Links, SoftPOS app, Emergency Kit) which will allow you to continue accepting payments during technical incidents like this one.
We are observing that POS SIM connectivity has been restored since 07:22 BST and customers can transact using CabCard POS terminals.
Our provider has escalated the issue at network level and continues to investigate.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by this disruption.
All of CabCard’s alternative payment methods are functioning normally and we encourage customers to make use of the CabCard Emergency Kit, Payment Links and SoftPOS app to ensure you can always accept payments during technical incidents such as this.
Our network connectivity provider has acknowledged the incident and is working to resolve the issue. Connectivity is intermittently available for POS devices. Currently we have observed no data transmission since 0605 BST.
All other CabCard payment processing methods are functioning normally and we urge customers to use payment links, SoftPOS and the CabCard emergency kit in order to continue to accept payments during this outage.
We have observed connection being restored for some customers at 0550 BST, with POS terminals able to transact.
We are continuing to monitor this closely and work with our network connection provider.

We apologise to affected customers who are currently unable to connect their CabCard POS terminal to the mobile network.
This appears to be a serious widespread issue at the network level. We are working with our network connection provider to establish the cause and provide a resolution as quickly as possible.
Information will be provided via our status page.
We encourage all customers to use our alternative payment methods, which are functioning as normal, to continue accepting payments: Payment Links, SoftPOS and the CabCard Emergency Kit.
Following several hours of stability, we observe that customers are experiencing poor connectivity for POS terminals since 04:17 BST.
We are urgently working to identify and resolve the issue.
Other payment processing methods remain available for customers to continue accepting payments, including Payment Links, SoftPOS and the CabCard emergency kit.
We are observing traffic at normal levels and customers reporting that POS terminal connection is operating normally. We will monitor on am ongoing basis, but consider that customers should be able to transact as normal.
Some customers are reporting inability to connect to the mobile network using their CabCard POS terminal.
We are urgently working to establish the cause of this issue.
Other payment processing methods including payment links and SoftPOS are functioning as normal. We encourage all customers to use the CabCard emergency kit in order to continue accepting card payments.
